App Inbox is a Bloomreach Engagement mobile channel that keeps messages in an inbox inside your app, so a customer can read them after dismissing a push notification, or without ever opting in to push.

Also known as
in-app inbox; message center; notification inbox
You send to it from its own scenario action node, with the visual or HTML editor, or by ticking Show in the App Inbox on a mobile push node. A message can stay in the inbox for up to 365 days and is limited to 1 MB. It needs the Bloomreach mobile SDK, API authentication, and a profile with at least one hard ID, because the inbox syncs across devices. Each message tracks a campaign event with action_type app inbox and the statuses sent, failed, opened, and clicked. In-app messages can't be stored in the inbox.
In practice
Use basic authentication only for a pilot. It doesn't validate customer IDs, so anyone who guesses an email can read that customer's inbox. Move to customer token authentication before launch.
