Approval workflow is a Bloomreach Engagement feature that sends a scenario through up to 20 approval steps, each assigned to a user group, before it can go live.

Editors request approval. Approvers get an in-app notification and either approve or ask for changes. Every action is logged with a timestamp, the approver's name, and a snapshot of the scenario. There are three modes. Optional is a checklist that never blocks. Launch only needs approval to start, but a running scenario can still be edited and then shows Running unapproved. Full pauses the scenario and needs full re-approval for any change. It covers scenarios only, approves the whole scenario rather than single nodes, and scenarios created before it was switched on carry no status.
In practice
Pick Launch only unless a regulator will ask for the audit trail. In Full mode every copy fix pauses a live journey. Assign steps to groups, not people, so a holiday doesn't block a launch.
