An App Link is an Android HTTPS URL, verified to belong to a specific app, so that tapping it opens that app directly to a specific screen instead of falling back to the browser.

Also known as
Android App Link; app links
It is Android’s counterpart to Apple Universal Links, and it matters for mobile messaging: a push or SMS that deep-links into the right in-app screen converts far better than one that dumps the user on a web page or a generic app home.
In practice
Verify the domain-to-app association correctly, or the link silently falls back to the browser. Test the deep link on a real device before relying on it in a campaign, because a broken deep link often fails quietly.
