Back-in-Stock Flow

A back-in-stock flow messages contacts who asked to hear when a sold-out product returns, triggered by the inventory change rather than by their behavior. It needs two things most flows don’t: a way to record the request per product, and an inventory signal (a catalog or feed update) that can fire the send.

In practice

Send in order of request time and cap the batch to the stock you have; a thousand alerts for twelve units creates more disappointment than the sold-out page did. Expire requests after a set period, and watch its conversion rate separately from other flows; the customer wrote the brief themselves, so it’s the flow the others should be measured against.
