A demo project is a separate platform project configured to match production, with the same event names, ID types, consent categories, and catalog schema. It is loaded with a pseudonymized slice of real history, not a vendor sample. Scenarios, templates, and weblayers are built and tested there and promoted to production from the same spec.

Build it from the tracking plan in week one and refresh the data slice quarterly. A demo project six months behind production is no more useful than the vendor sample. Only identities get pseudonymized; product IDs and timestamps stay real so the joins work.
