Event-based usage is the Bloomreach Engagement billing model metered on two numbers. Monthly processed events (MPE) is every event tracked, imported or generated in a calendar month. Maximum stored events (MES) is the peak number of events held in the account at any point. Campaign sends, web tracking, ad audience syncs, weblayer shows and frequency-policy suppressions all generate events that count. Customer attribute updates, catalog imports, exports and predictions don't. Duplicates count each time they arrive. Deleting or expiring events lowers MES only, never MPE. The dashboard under Overview > Bloomreach usage updates every 48 hours. Accounts on profile-based pricing, introduced in May 2026, use a separate Profile usage dashboard instead.

In practice
Check the data breakdown tab for view_category or cart_update firing several times per page before negotiating the renewal. Tracking bugs inflate MPE more than any campaign does, and a retention policy on page_visit is the fastest MES cut.
