Data Audit (CDP)

A CDP data audit, also called a tracking audit, is a short, structured check of what data arrives, whether each customer is one profile, what can legally be sent, and what runs. It ends in a ranked fix list.

Also known as

CDP audit; tracking audit; implementation audit; CDP health check; platform review

It takes about five days, and every answer is a count or a list, not an opinion. It is the first step in fixing a platform that is live but not delivering, because most campaign problems turn out to be data problems: missing events, wrong properties, duplicate profiles, consent gaps.

In practice

Audit from the campaign backwards. List the five journeys you want to run, then check whether every event and attribute they need arrives correctly for every customer. A full inventory of every event takes longer and finds the same problems. Run the audit before any platform decision and once a quarter after. If it produces a deck instead of a fix list with owners and dates, it produced the wrong thing.
