Retail Media Network (RMN)

A retail media network (RMN) is an advertising network run by a retailer, using its own shopper data and inventory to let brands target and measure ads.

Also known as

RMN; retail media

It is one of the biggest post-DMP growth areas, because it runs on the retailer’s first-party purchase data rather than third-party cookies. Many RMNs now extend beyond onsite sponsored ads into offsite media, audience extension, and closed-loop measurement.

In practice

The value is the first-party purchase signal, not the impression count. Judge an RMN by data quality, measurement transparency, and whether the sales lift is incremental, not just attributed, before you scale spend.
