revenue management
It is the parent practice behind yield optimization: deciding not just which demand to fill but at what price, given limited supply and shifting demand. In commerce and retail media it connects pricing, inventory, and decisioning into one revenue question.
In practice
Manage yield against long-term value, not just the day’s revenue. Squeezing maximum price or the top bid from every unit can win the quarter while teaching customers and advertisers to expect less, which lowers future yield.
