Lifecycle marketing is marketing based on a customer's lifecycle stage and relationship maturity rather than one-size-fits-all campaigns.

lifecycle
A CDP enables it by making lifecycle stage available as a live, usable segment: new, active, at-risk, lapsed.
In practice
Lifecycle marketing needs accurate stage data to work. If you cannot reliably tell an at-risk customer from an active one, the segments will misfire. Before you automate, manually check ten customers per stage; if the labels do not match reality, fix the stage logic first.
